The Problem of Plastic Friction at the Deformation Zone with Stationary Contact Surfaces of a Tool

A new technological parameter has been proposed – reduced sliding friction coefficient. The parameter allows for more comprehensive consideration of friction characteristics in the deformation zone at metals working by pressure. A new method applying the proposed coefficient has been developed for defining the energy-power parameters of the process of workpieces extrusion in a solid die block.

The Impact of Drawing and Free Torsion on the Heterogeneity of Strain and Structural Changes in Low-Carbon Steel Workpieces

Simulation of conventional drawing and free torsion of low-carbon steel bars processes has been conducted with the use of DEFORM 3D software package. The simulation results are substantially in accordance with the physical experiments results. The simulation established the mutual accordance of the steel 10 plasticity diagram and the structural changes pattern in the bars deformed with the free torsion.

Study on the Hydrostatic Extrusion Process of a Tubular Workpiece on the Profiled Arbor Using the Computer Simulation Method

Computer simulation has been conducted for two variations of hydrostatic extrusion process of a tubular workpiece on the arbor with polygonal profile of the cross-section. The results of the simulation revealed the possibility of producing shaped inner cavity of the tubular workpiece with the rulings of profiled elements parallel to the longitudinal axis by the method of hydrostatic extrusion on a profiled arbor.

The Impact of Heating Parameters on the Surface Condition, Technological and Operating Properties of Forged Product made of Titanium Alloys

The article provides the analysis of the impact of the environment along with the temperature and temporal heating parameters of the titanium alloys workpieces on the kinetics of oxidation, intensity of the surface layer gas saturation, changes in the technological and operating properties of forged product. Methods of heating the workpieces applying the protective coatings have been considered.

Forecasting Relaxation Resistance of Disk Springs by the Acoustic Emission Method

Proposed a technique of forecasting relaxation resistance of disk springs on the basis of the acoustic emission signals distribution. The technique allows estimating the relaxation resistance of springs in the course of production.
