Analysis of Contact Interaction of Smooth and Rough Bodies by the Boundary Elements Method: Models and Resolving Ratios.
3. Direct and Variational Methods of Solution for the Problem of Non-Hertz Normal Contact of Smooth Bodies. 4. Cantact Model of Rough Bodies

In this paper, the problem of contact interaction of smooth and rough bodies is posed and solved. The problem is reduced to a boundary integral equation. Discretization of the sought contact pressure is done by the boundary elements method. The effect of roughness is modeled by Winkler elastic foundation.
Keywords: contact interaction; contact pressure; integral equation; boundary elements method.

Calculation Methods of Plain Extrusion at Non-axial Arrangement of Punch and Die.
Part 4. The Means of Controlling the Flow of Extruded Material

Proposed the design formulas along with the detailed methods of their application required for determination of plane extrusion technological parameters for strain-hardening and non-strain-hardening materials. Methods of form changing control for the acquisition of required walls height ratio of the extrusion workpiece have been proposed and tested. Conducted the experimental studies and calculations comparison, which proved high accuracy and reliability of the inferred formulas.
Keywords: die forging; extrusion; non-axial arrangement of punch and die; plane strain state.

Form Changing and Uneven Distribution of Strain at Upsetting of Cylindrical Workpieces

The article describes the features of zonal structure of the deformation site when upsetting cylindrical workpieces. It proposes the methods of determination of deformation sites dimensions, friction coefficient and the conditioning parameters for form changing and the uneven distribution of strain at upsetting, including the conditioning parameters at double barrel distortion.
Keywords: upsetting; deformation site; cylindrical workpiece; friction coefficient; barrel distortion; unevenness of deformation.

Innovative Technologies for Innovative Materials

The modern principles and methods of forming ultra-fine-grained structure with optimum morphology of the strengthening phases, providing increase of technological plasticity when processing by pressure workpieces made of heterophase hardly-deformed high-heat-resisting alloys are revealed in the article. The advantages of isothermal stamping of such workpieces are shown at production of forged disks, blades and other parts.
Keywords: high-heat-resisting alloys; structure; thermomechanical processing; isothermal stamping.

The Effect of Slipping V-belt Drive on the Parameters of a Mechanical Press Flywheel

The effect of slipping V-belt drive on the parameters of a mechanical press flywheel has been examined. The study revealed that the actual maximum value of the drive slipping runs up to 0.04…0.08, which greatly exceeds the value recommended for the calculations. The study demonstrates that the average value of the V-belt drive slipping should be taken as 0.02…0.04 when calculating the flywheel parameters. In a case of higher slipping value of the V-belt drive the inertia moment of the flywheel may be lowered by 10…25 %.
Keywords: mechanical press; engine; V-belt drive; slipping; flywheel; moment of inertia.

Research on the First Stamping Operation of the Elements of Platinum Glass-melting Devices

An analysis of the first stamping operation of the elements of platinum glass-melting devices has been conducted with the use of ABAQUS and DEFORMS software packages. The analysis identified uneven distribution of stresses and strains at the stamping process, which results in the production of elements with different shape.
Keywords: stamping; platinum; simulation; finite elements method; stress; strain.

Simulation of Bending Processes of Sheet Workpieces with the Elastic and Elastic-Granular Media

The article presents the simulation of bending processes of sheet workpieces with the elastic and elastic-granular media in the PAM-STAMP 2G finite elements analysis software. The comparison of simulation and full-scale experiment results proved them to be in close accordance.
Keywords: bending; sheet workpieces; elastic medium; elastic-granular medium; finite elements simulation.
