On the feasibility of the theoretical elastic deformation of the stamping tool. Part 2. Closed die forging

On the example of closed forging is shown the necessity of the consideration of elastic deformation of the tool for an adequate description of its characteristic features.

Perzyna’s model use for the modeling processes of superplastic forming of rectangular membranes

Superplastic forming of rectangular sheet is considered in the article. There is taking into account the influence of the threshold stress on the mechanical response of superplastic material. Analytical solutions are obtained within framework of the thin shell theory. The results are verified by means of finite element modeling using Perzyna’s model. It is shown that the influence of the mechanical threshold on the time dependencies of the dome height is negligible.

Stress state and deformation of a workpiece during shrinkage process on the plate with a hole

Peculiarities of shrinkage of a workpiece on the plate with a hole are given in the article. The sizes of the zone of stagnation over the hole, and conditions of formation of this zones over the shrinkage zone around the hole are found. A criterion for «high» and «low» pieces is given. It is also determined the conditions for shrinkage of the workpiece on the plate with the hole for eliminating extrusion into the hole in the plate or vice versa providing the punching metal workpiece into a hole with a preferential increase in diameter in the upper or lower parts of the workpiece.

Stamp for plastic shrinkage of long cylindrical workpieces

A structural scheme of a stamp for plastic shrinkage of long cylindrical workpieces is demonstrated in the article. Introduction of the stamp in the tool industry and implementation of process can significantly increase the resistance of various tools as a result of mechanical pre-heat treatment. The methodology of calculation of the basic geometrical parameters of the stamp is shown.

Ontology concept for automated design of transitions of shaft forging

An ontology concept for automated design of press forging is developed. Ontology classes are defined and a conceptual scheme of the system is built. On the example of solving the problem of designing shaft forging transitions, instances and attributes of a class «Transitions» are determined. A conceptual scheme of the class «Transitions» within system is constructed. Principal axioms are formulated and the technological restrictions, which these axioms are based on, are defined. Established ontological knowledge base of considered subject area allows us to increase the intellectual level of the system and its flexibility and it essentially facilitates system adjustment to specific production environment. The proposed approach can be used to develop press-forging computer-aided planning process (CAPP) systems for various forged pieces.

Study of highdispersed oil-based graphite lubricants for extruding blade billets from nickel alloys

The article presents the results of research of oil-based lubricants for the operation of squeezing of compressor blades from nickel alloys. The technique of learning of lubricant’s temperature ignition is given. The beginning of the ignition of the lubricant depends on its composition, i.e. the type of oil and the percentage of incoming components that slow down the process of ignition of lubricant. It is established that the surface temperature of the stamp increases after the process of extruding billets on average 24 %.
