General methodology for calculating the technological parameters of a combined process of reduction–mandrelling

The technique of using the results of the conducted scientific research for specific technological calculations of the main parameters of the combined reduction-mandrelling process is given. Depending on the technological tasks set, various types of technological calculations are described.

Experimental research of the process of forming a hexagonal bolt head from stainless steel

Experimental researches of process of manufacturing of hexagonal bolts head of stainless steel austenitic grades 12X18H10T and 10X17H13M2T. Tested mechanical properties of the steels after heat treatment and calibration to the finished size and constructed hardening curves. Analyzed three variants technology: cold forming with cut heads at the hexagon bar; cold waste-free forming of the hexagon with the extrusion recess; a combined method including cold forging cylinder head and half-hot waste-free stamping of the hexagon. Developed recommendations for implementing technologies for high-performance automatic equipment (press-forging machines and automatic rotary lines).

Evaluation of the influence of the material properties dispersion on the accuracy of determination of the maximum thinning during pneumothermal molding

In the case of pneumothermal forming of cylindrical parts from AMg6M alloy the effect of deviation of metal characteristics on the maximum ironing is analyzed. The parameters that have the greatest influence on the process are determined.

To the problem of design of forming machines with a preset durability

The article considers the main aspects of calculations when designing large-sized forging and pressing equipment of a given durability. A scientifically grounded algorithm is proposed that allows reliable operation of a structure operating in the field of multi-cyclic fatigue. An example of calculations is given for the design of a crane hot-stamping press frame of a given durability based on an existing structure.

Stress investigation in the wall-anvil of the composite mold depending on the compression force of the slab during steel sheets receiving for welded pipes production on equipment with the combined continuous casting–deformation process

The scheme of installation of the combined process for obtaining sheets from steel for the production of welded pipes is given. The formulation of the problem is described and the results of a theoretical study of the stresses in the wall-anvils of the combined mold are derived from the compression force of the slab. The patterns of stress distribution along the width and height of the wall-anvils during the production of steel sheets for welded pipes are presented. The effect of channels for cooling in the wall-anvils on the level and nature of stress distribution was estimated.

Quality improving of chromium bronze rods by development in thermal deformation processing

A method for the thermal deformation processing of chromium bronze rods is developed and organized with the release of industrial lots, containing operations of pre-cleaning of the intermediate workpiece, subsequent aging and finishing drawing of the aged blank with an extractive coefficient of 1.10…1.25. The bars processed by this method meet all the requirements of the normative document on hardness and longitudinal curvature, have a proper appearance with an even, defect-free, shiny surface characteristic of cold-drawn products.

Analysis of the stressed state of the process of superplastic forming of a circular membrane at the initial stage of deformation

The process of superplastic forming (SPF) of a circular membrane is one of the key in the study of the mechanics of superplastic flow. The aim of the present study is to analyze the dependency of the first principal stress on the height of the dome under constant pressure of the inertia gas at the initial stage of deformation taking into account the possible influence of elastic strains. SPF of a circular membrane made of Ti-6Al-4V commercial sheet alloy into a cylindrical die is considered both analytically and by means of finite element considerations. It is found that the deviation of simplified solution from the results of finite element calculations does not exceed 8%.
