Industrial testing of the results of a combined reduction–mandrelling process researching

The technique of using the results of the conducted scientific research for a specific technological development of the combined process of reduction-mandrelling of bushes for the travel shaft of an aerospace product is given. The results of successful industrial testing of the developed technology are stated. Comparison of these results with theoretical predictions confirms the high accuracy and reliability of the calculation formulas.

Modelling of cylindrical workpiece upsetting process using hill’s yield criterion

Using DEFORM-3D software the modelling of cylindrical workpiece upsetting process was carried out by finite element method. Von Mises yield criterion and Hill’s yield criterion were employed for isotropic and anisotropic materials respectively. The problem set for anisotropic material was solved in three variants with successive rotation of the largest flow stress direction along three coordinate axes. It was discovered that the base of the cylinder can take an oval shape when flow stress directions of various values lie in the base plane. In this case the smaller axis of the oval corresponds to the largest flow stress direction. When flow stress directions of various values lie in longitudinal section plane of the workpiece, its shape stays cylindrical.

FEM development of the gas forming process under conditions of irregular heating

The possibility of using SIMULIA Abaqus software for simulation of gas forming of hemispheres from titanium alloys under conditions of superplasticity with uneven radial heating of the billet is considered.

Modernization of a roller correct machine for quality increasing of thick steel sheets

The method of calculating of power consumption for the electric motor for straightening thick steel plates is improved, which makes it possible to increase the accuracy of calculations of the electric motor power by 10…15 % during modernizing the straightening units. The diagram of the algorithm for calculating the parameters of the straightening and power of the electric motor, as well as the bending moments for the multiroll straightening machine is given.

Features of the production of bronze wire that meets the high-level requirements

Under the conditions of the current production, studies are carried out to improve the chemical composition of tin-zinc and nickel-chromium-silicon bronzes, to search for a rational technological procedure for deformation-thermal processing of wires from these alloys and to optimize the modes of thermal deformation processing of chromic zirconium-calcium bronze wire. Stable service properties of wire from these bronzes, meeting the strict requirements of regulatory documents, are obtained. The production of industrial batches of wire of the responsible electrical engineering has been organized, which has high physical and mechanical characteristics.

The limited plasticity of sheet materials

The models of sheet materials destruction having anisotropic limited plasticity were examined. The methods of regular materials definition were developed. The reliability of the models was corroborated by experiments. The results of experiments allow to recommend the models for computer-design of sheet punching operations with the aim of prediction potential of workpieces destruction.
