Investigation of the extrusion of a cylindrical billet through a matrix with a square hole. Part 2. Determination of accumulated deformations, registration of hardening and experimental verification of the obtained results

According to Vorontsov's method, all necessary formulas for determining the accumulated deformations in various zones of the billet are obtained and a technique for calculating the hardening of the deformable material for the successful design of processes for extruding a cylindrical billet through a square-hole matrix is presented. The high accuracy of the calculation formulas is confirmed by comparing the results of the calculations with the experimental data.

Technological features of welding wire production at JSC «Kamensk-Uralsky Non-Ferrous Metal Working Plant»

A variety of technological schemes for the production of welding wire is considered in the article. According to the results of research, the task of productive using of non-specialized equipment for fulfilling orders of atypical small and ultra-small amounts of wire is solved. Based on the search for variants of technological schemes, it is substantially compensated, and under optimal conditions, the negative effect of the shortcomings of these schemes is minimized. An example of investigation of the melting and casting processes of one of the alloys and the production of pilot-industrial lots of finished cold-drawn wire is described. Economically effective production of high-quality welding wire of wide branded and dimensional assortment is organized.

Improving the quality of large-size billets on the basis of modeling of separation operations in successive dies

The mechanism of quality forecasting of the cut profile of the sheet material of bulky billets is considered on the basis of the choice of the optimal gap and the indicators of the system «Workpiece – sectional working tool – stamp-press». A method for estimating the influence of gaps and elastic deformations of a stamp design on the quality of a profile of a cut in a numerical simulation environment is proposed.

Investigation of the heat-shielding properties of coatings for high-temperature steels and alloys

The article describes the results of studies of protective coatings for blade blanks and the possibility of using them instead of a barium chloride melt using for heating of blanks from high-temperature alloys. Various compositions of protective lubricants are studied, tests under production conditions and metallographic studies are carried out. The results of the studies and tests show that the use of special coatings allows eliminating the formation of oxidation along the grain boundaries and, as a result, reducing the allowance on the workpiece.

Calculation of the parameters of a pipe billet shaping according to the JCOE forming method

It is proposed to plan and perform theoretical and physical researches on specialized equipment in research laboratories. Such equipment in terms of its power and functional parameters should reproduce the basic deformation operations by the JCOE forming method. In the National University of Science and Technology «MISIS» а laboratory for metal pressure treatment is created, which includes experimental equipment for physical modeling of pipe production processes. The laboratory has a press, which allows to simulate discrete processes of forming large diameter pipes in two ways: UOE, JCOE. For preparation of a tooling a theoretical calculation is carried out for the main stages of shaping for a given tube size. Analysis of the dimensions and capabilities of the laboratory press shows that it is advisable to choose a tube Ø 40×1 mm with this type of dimension. After calculating the basic operations, recommendations have been prepared for the tooling, which allows you to physically simulate the basic operations of the method.
