Investigation of internal radial extrusion of a pipe blank.
Part. 4. Boundaries of deformation zones

According to the method of plastic flow of A. L. Vorontsov, formulas were obtained that describe the boundaries of zones with different deformed states, which is necessary for calculating the accumulated deformations at any point of the tube billet, plunged by internal radial extrusion.
Keywords: volumetric stamping; radial extrusion; strain; deformations; pipe blank.

Calculation and analytical estimates of the conditions of a container shells gas-forming

The dependences for estimating the local stability of deformations and the damageability of the workpiece material during the formation of shells by gas pressure are proposed. The obtained ratios for the calculation of the change in the wall thickness of the dome of the shell during the process of forming. The calculated results are given.
Keywords: nonlinear viscosity; equivalent strain; strain rate; stress; strain stability; damageability.

The criterion of fatigue strength of materials under repeated tension and shear under conditions of a complex stress state

A criterion for fatigue strength is proposed, which determines the transition to the limit state of materials under complex loading under repeated tension and shear and based on the dependence of destructive factors: normal and tangential stresses on the components of the specific potential deformation energy.
Keywords: fatigue strength; normal stress; tangential stress; deformation; potential energy; separation; shear.

Investigation of brittle fracture of stainless steel products, obtained by deep drawing

The analysis of factors leading to brittle fracture of axisymmetric products from materials prone to high hardening during cold plastic deformation is performed. Based on this study, a number of recommendations are proposed to reduce the level of residual stresses in products obtained by multi-transition deep-drawing processes without intermediate annealing.
Keywords: deep drawing; blank; plastic deformation; brittle failure; stress concentrators; bending moment; tangential bending stresses; residual stresses; cutting; flange; matrix.

Modeling of processes of cold forging of fasteners in the Qform software package

The article deals with the problems which arise from the development of new technological processes of cold forging or during the production process. The results of modeling various variants of technology in the QForm software package are presented. The analysis of the simulation results, allowing to identify the most optimal variant of the technological process.
Keywords: fasteners; modeling; technology; analysis; equipment; forging; deformation; stress; parameters; force.

Investigation of the cooling capacity of metalworking fluids

The results of work in the study of the cooling capacity of lubricating fluids used in metal working processes. The research results obtained by setting to determine the cooling characteristics of the process media temperature sensor is further equipped with transfer mechanism.
Keywords: metalworking fluids; cooling capacity; cooling rate; cooling equipment for determining the characteristics of process media; transfer mechanism.

The voice of the bell «King»

An occasion of the largest bell The King creation history is presented. The bell is of 72 tons in mass. The bell was casted in St.-Petersburg and was transported in Sergiev Posad near Moscow. The first attempt to make the bell ringing was unsuccessful. Monks asked the President of Russian forging union to help in solving of the bell ringing problem. Technical aspects of successful solving the problem are described in this paper.
Keywords: bell; tongue of bell; ring; acoustic; casting; forging.
