Influence of adhesion coefficient on the axial force during combine upsetting

It is conducted in the article the analysis and refinement of previously used formulas to estimate the axial forces in combined sludge to be used for the calculation of power parameters of the processes in the kinematic conditions of deformation. The approximate formula for calculation the axial force of combine upsetting for a wide range of kinematic parameters «i» and taking into account an adhesion coefficient are present. Results of experimental verification of this formula are shown. Graphic relation between the adhesion coefficient and kinematic parameters are presented.
Keywords: upsetting combine with torsion; axial force; shear; stress; friction force vector; adhesion coefficient.

Design of self-tapping screws and the technology of their production

The article discusses various design self-tapping screws, affecting their strength and performance characteristics. The technology of manufacturing of self-tapping screws in conditions of JSC «MMK-Metiz» is given. New design can improve their strength characteristics and, consequently, operational properties of tapping screws. Using self-tapping screws with high-strength eliminates is excluded deformation of the slot and screwing the screw heads during tightening. The article describes the sequence of the production technology of self-tapping screws and the following operations: wire manufacturing; stamping blanks tapping screws; washer blanks tapping screws; tapping; chemical-thermal treatment of self-tapping screws; coating of zinc or phosphate coating; testing of screws; packing of screws.

Small manufacturing punching tools from economically alloyed steels with a diffusion hardening

The paper presents the results of the use of sparingly alloyed steel 35ХГСА with diffusion-hardened layer for the manufacture of finishing punches, forming the cross-slot in the screw heads of the screws. Possibility of replacement of material-prototype (tool steel Х12М) on the criteria of technological plasticity and contact wear in the hardened state is shown. Conducted compression testing and contact wear. In addition, the estimation of stress-strain state of surface finishing punches using the numerical analysis of the finite element method is given, the microstructure and the microhardness of the samples are studied.
Comparative analysis of the intensity of the contact wear of the tool steel Х12М and economically alloyed steel 35ХГСА, hardened by cementation, shows that in the range of 10 thousand cycles of loading these materials have comparable figures to wear. In other words steel 35ХГСА with a hardened layer allows to increase the resistance of the punches more than 3 times. Ductility of steel 35ХГСА on the cold shaping operation of the working parts of the tool are identical to become Х12М that allows you to replace the material. Subsequent testing of the use of steel 35ХГСА for manufacturing small tool shows the reduction in the costs of production tooling.
Keywords: steel; diffusion hardening; ductility; contact wear.

Design of tool for pressing low powder blanks with hole in the light of buckling

The analysis of the compaction low powder blanks with hole. The low resistance of the rods when the ratio of length and minimum radius of gyration - L/rmin > 90 , due to the impact bending loads. Developed multi-mold with a lineup of rods. In this mold for pressing low blanks of the second and third groups difficulty the punches and the rods placed in the middle plate. Scheme and the sequence of its work are shown. The mold provides an increase of the number of concurrently processed workpieces by performing the matrix concept, as well as a significant decrease in the height of the lower punches and cores, which improves the performance and durability of press tools while ensuring a uniform density along the height of the products.
Keywords: powder preform; mold; tools for pressing; resistance rods and punches.
