According to the method of plastic flow of A. L. Vorontsov, formulas are obtained that are necessary for calculating the accumulated deformations at any point of a pipe blank that cast by internal radial extrusion.

Modeling combined continuous casting and deformation for receiving sheets from aluminum alloys

The scheme of the combined process of continuous casting and deformation for obtaining sheets of aluminum alloys is given. There are described four stages of the combined process of continuous casting and deformation in the production of aluminum sheets. To determine the regularity of distribution and the values of axial stresses in the zone of cyclic deformation, the finite element method is used. Specifically: a flat setting of the contact problem of elastic-plasticity is used in the presence of large deformations and displacements. ANSYS package was used for calculation. A calculation scheme for modeling the process, boundary conditions and initial data are presented.
The results of the determination of the stress-strain state of the metal in the zone of deformation during the production of sheets of aluminum alloys are presented. The diagrams of the distribution of axial stresses along the symmetry axis and along the line of contact between the deformation center and the anvil are presented. The evaluation of the stress state of the metal in the zone of deformation from the position of improving the quality of aluminum alloy sheets has been performed. The technological possibilities of the combined process of continuous casting and deformation from the position of obtaining sheets of high quality from aluminum alloys are described. The metal flow on the boundary with the liquid phase was evaluated during the compression of the solidified metal by the anvils of the composite crystallizer of the combined continuous casting process and deformation in the production of 8 and 16 mm thick sheets of continuously cast slab 30 mm thick. The main parameters of the installation of a combined continuous casting and deformation process (ICCD) for the production of wide sheets from aluminum alloys are shown.

Analysis of the folding strip center’s parameters in the line of the molding mill TESA 30-50

The article discusses the parameters of the folding strip center’s parameters in the line of the molding mill TESA 30-50. For pipes with a diameter of 50?1,5 mm are constructed folding centers with a length of 2400 mm and 1800 mm in straight and curvilinear diagrams. The calculation of the fiber trajectory for fixed points is made. The greatest fiber trajectory is formed on the edge of the strip. It is established that reducing the length of the rectilinear focus of the band folding leads to an increase in the length of the edge in the area of open calibers. Also, with a rectilinear focus of folding, a uniform decrease in the length of the edge from the first open stand to the last open stand is found. With a curvilinear folding center, the length of the edge increases evenly over the area of open calibers. In closed calibers, the length of the edge varies slightly and has a value close to the interstand distance of the stands of the closed type.

Device for deforming sheets under plane strain

The design of the device for testing sheet materials under conditions close to plane strain is developed. The necessary ratio is obtained for calculating the coordinate of the center of gravity of the section for applying a tensile longitudinal force to it. Experimental data of testing of a sheet of aluminum alloy D16AM, confirming the high accuracy of the plane strain condition in the sample, are presented. In this regard, it is recommended that the proposed device design be used in laboratories of research institutes, universities to study the properties of sheet materials.

Correct assessment of the strength of materials

The article analyzes the main stress modules that available in the technical literature and describe the transition of a material to the limiting state by tearing during volumetric tension and by shear under volumetric compression. To improve the reliability of technical objects, it is recommended to evaluate the strength of materials under volumetric tension by separation modules, and for volumetric compression, by shear modules.
