Experiment-Calculated Identification of Mathematical and Numerical Interaction Models of Complex Mechanical Systems Elements

A new approach to the identification of the structure and parameters of the mathematical and numerical interaction models of complex mechanical systems elements has been proposed. Analysis of the distribution of contact pressures obtained by numerical and experimental methods has been conducted for the case of contact interaction of a ball with toroidal rotation body.
Keywords: complex structure body; contact interaction; simulation; boundary elements method; contact spot.

Calculation Methods of Plain Extrusion at Non-Axial Arrangement of Punch and Die. Part 2. Calculations of Non-Hardening Material Extrusion

Proposed the design formulas along with the detailed methods of their application required for determination of plane extrusion technological parameters for strain-hardening and non-strain-hardening materials. Methods of form changing control for the acquisition of required walls height ratio of the extrusion workpiece have been proposed and tested. Conducted the experimental studies and calculations comparison, which proved high accuracy and reliability of the inferred formulas.
Keywords: die forging; extrusion; non-axial arrangement of punch and die; plane strain state.

Stress State and Form Changing at Stripe Rolling

The article outlines the features of deformation site structure at stripe rolling. Deformation sites dimensions have been defined; the dependence of stress state parameters on the deformation site length to the stripe thickness ratio has been established. Recommendations on improvement have been given for the rolled stripes macrostructure and surface quality. Dependences have been proposed for the determination of stripe broadening and acceptance angle at rolling.
Keywords: deformation site; stripe rolling; stress state; broadening; acceptance angle; friction coefficient.

Simulation of the Preliminary Stage at Pneumoforming in Superplasticity State

A new method of selection of the die outline for the preliminary stage of the reverse gas forming with the use of multistage optimization methods. The method is based on the forming process simulation in DEFORM software package. An example of the method application is provided for a hemisphere type workpiece.
Keywords: superplastic forming; simulation; finite elements method; optimization.

Forming of the Blade Nib Surfaces with the Use of Interpolation Smoothing Splines

The article considers a method of forming complex surfaces of compressor blades forged product for air engines. The method is based on the use of bicubic interpolation splines. A calculation algorithm programmed in forged product CAD system has been designed for the method’s implementation.
Keywords: compressor blades; forged product CAD system; interpolation smoothing splines; algorithm.
