Study on the Fibrous Structure of a Product Acquired with Plain Extrusion at Non-Axial Arrangement of Punch and Die. Part 1. Fundamentals

This work proves the importance of researching the fibrous structure at products extrusion. The article outlines certain erroneous statements considering the forming of the current structure cited in popular works. The contributors formulated the sequence of correct analytic study of the fibrous structure.
Keywords: bulk stamping; extrusion; non-axial arrangement of punch and die; plane strain; fibrous structure.

Multilevel Models Applied for the Analysis of the Contact Interaction of Geometrically-Complex Bodies: Algorithms, Implementation and Applicability Analysis

The article describes an approach to the contact interaction analysis of geometrically-complex bodies, which represents a balanced combination of Hertz model, the boundary integral equations method and finite elements method. The example of the contact of a ball with a toroidal raceway illustrates the limits of applicability of various models.
Keywords: geometrically-complex body; contact interaction; Hertz model; boundary elements method; finite elements method.

Study on the Dynamic Recrystallization at Hot Stamping of Products with Complex Profile Produced from Ni–Cr–Fe Alloy System

The impact of thermal-deformation parameters on the progress of dynamic recrystallization of the heat-resistant Ni–Cr–Fe alloy system has been examined with the help of physical simulation. A computer model of plastic deformation for structure formation analysis at the production of geometrically-complex products has been designed based on the finite elements method.
Keywords: austenitic alloy; dynamic recrystallization; physical simulation; finite elements method; structure formation.

Defining the Force Required for Removing Deep Cavity Forged Products from the Punch

This paper describes the development of a method of calculating the specific forces required for the removal of forged products with deep axial cavity from the punch. These forged products are manufactured by the method of hot extrusion on crank hot forging presses. A calculation nomogram considering the results of experimental researches is outlined in this article.
Keywords: hot extrusion; forged product; punch removal force; crank hot forging press.

Helical Extrusion of Round Bars in Offset Axis Dies

The article demonstrates that the implementation of helical extrusion of round bars in dies, where the axis of helical surface is off-centered, enables the nearly complete distribution of strain across the section of workpieces.
Keywords: helical extrusion; simple shearing strain; accumulated strain; simulation; offset axis.

Selecting an Optimal Composition of Powder Composite Titanium-Based Materials for Pressing

The article considers a research on the physical-mechanical properties of the pressed and sintered samples made of titanium-based powders with various fractional contents and an addition of copper powder as an alloying element. The analysis of density and compressive strength of the pressed pieces allowed the researchers to give recommendations on the selection of the optimal composition of composite material.

Simulation of Stress-Strain State at Drawing with Rotating Die

Finite elements method has been used to study the stress-strain state, which occurs at processing of round workpieces by the drawing method with the rotation of the die. It’s been established that the partial slip conditions appear on the contact surface. The occurrence of additional components of the stress tensor has been noted and the contributors established the relations between those components.
Keywords: drawing; finite elements method; stress-strain state; tool rotation.
