Improving the efficiency of cermets in heavily loaded tribounits

Ceramic-metal material (cermet), including those based on titanium carbide, can have undesirable pores. Therefore, for shielding pores on the surfaces of the cermet is applied wear-resistant coating. But it remains unclear how it modifies their tribological properties. The aim of this article is to determine the characteristics of the adhesive interaction depending on the temperature and pressure for different pairs of friction ceramic- metal materials based on titanium carbide with a wear-resistant coating. It is found that the application of wear-resistant coatings TiN, Zr-Ti-NC or TiCrN on some ceramic-metal materials reduces the strength of adhesive bonds on the slice and molecular (adhesive) component of the friction coefficient. This increasing of temperature to 600 ° C has no significant effect on the reduction of the carrying capacity of the frictional contact.
Keywords: сeramic-metal material based on titanium carbide; wear-resistant coating; bond strength shear; molecular (adhesive) leaves the coefficient of friction; hardening coefficient of adhesive bonds.

The dependence of wear of tribounits from the material of the friction pair

Investigations on wear of friction pairs on a single ball tribometer «NANOVEA TRB» are performed. As a ball spherical ends cut from indenters are used, which participated in the studies on the interaction of adhesive (in a single ball adheziometr), and as examples - the same samples from these studies. Thus, researches are performed by direct and inverse wear of friction pairs uncoated and coated with a metal or ceramic-metal substrates. It is alows to study not only the wear of the friction surfaces of the individual, but also to estimate the total wear of various friction units, and to establish and explain the relationship of wear with the indicators in the adhesive interaction frictional contact.
It is studied the wear of the following pairs of friction of heat-resistant cast alloy ZhS6U and ceramic-metallic material (cermet) on the basis of titanium carbide TiC-ZhS6U (uncoated and coated with wear-resistant TiN and Zr-Ti-NC). There is shown direct evidence adhesive-fatigue character wear a solid-state direct friction pair. It is found that the wear-resistant coating on cermets prevent entry into the friction surface solid foundation TiC, thereby reducing abrasive wear of mechanical parts friction pair wear and reducing overall friction units. It is shown that in order to reduce wear of friction units should be used in both parts cermets friction pair. The best effect in wear resistance can be obtained if both surfaces of the pair of friction wear resistant coating applied.
Keywords: direct and inverse friction pairs; ceramic-metallic materials; wear-resistant coating; wear rate; total wear of friction units; hardening coefficient of adhesive bonds.

Modification of plastic lubricants with «carbonic carcass» additive

Despite the large variety of additives that are used for modifying plastic lubricant materials, the possibility of using «carbonic carcass» (CC), as it was so called, as an additive is still unexplored. The aim of this study is to compare the tribological characteristics of the lubricant modified with CC and molybdenum disulphide (MD), taking into account the pressure and temperature of the contacting surfaces. The indexes of extreme pressure lubricant and wear-preventive property for plastic lubricant materials are given in the research article. The indexes are discovered by four-ball machine according to All-Union State Standard 9490–75 (score ultimate load, welding load, load wear index and wear scar diameter). The microstructure and chemistry of carbonic carcass powder were analyzed. The lubricants were subjected to the temperature and pressure changes. This way lubricants for the resistance of adhesion bond on shear and molecular quality coefficient of friction are checked. It is demonstrated that the use of tender lubricant materials modification by carbonic carcass instead of molybdenum disulphide under extreme loading conditions provides more advantageous tribological characteristics.
Keywords: carbonic carcass; molybdenum disulphide; plastic lubricant; critical load; wear spot; strength of adhesive communications on shear; adhesive component coefficient of friction; pressure; temperature.
