Optimization model of the stamp volume by bar structures based on the criteria of stability and durability

Mathematical modeling of the stamp optimal volume he used in the field of metal forming was carried out in a scientific study. The polymer as a stamp material was taken into account when building an optimization model based on the durability condition. The topology of the stamp was approximated by a skeleton of vertical bars with a minimum cross-sectional area. The stress state at a given cyclic load was determined based on the stability criterion. The basic idea of the study was to increase the stress state to values close to the limiting ones according to the stability equation. Thus, the resulting stress state will allow minimizing the volume of the stamp. The constructed mathematical model of the stamp can be used for the production of punches and dies in the field of metal forming.
Keywords: optimization; stamp; shaping; stability; volume minimization; stress state.

Investigation of the cutting mechanism of reinforced fiberglass composite materials during milling and analysis of their micrographs

The article describes the methods of using an end mill when machining grooves on a fiberglass reinforced composite material. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to analyze the micrograph of the treated surface. Research of the cutting mechanism of reinforced glass fiber composite materials has been carried out. The micrograph shows that different main defects appear on different parts of the grooves, the angle of direction of the glass fiber affects the quality of the surface treatment.
Keywords: reinforced fiberglass composite material; cutting mechanism; micrograph of the processed plane; cutting defect.

Tool and technology of non-monotonic deformation powder materials

The article is devoted to the production of articles (briquettes) from corrosion-resistant, antifriction, electrical, instrumental, wear-resistant and thermobimetallic powders by powder metallurgy methods. Mold is developed for equal-channel non-monotonic pressing of porous, powder bodies and powders into briquettes with ordered equilibrium structure. Imparting physical and mechanical properties to briquettes, sintering of articles equilibrium in structure. Equations of calculations of damage and «life» of blank material for each stage of multistage deformation are given
Keywords: mold; die; plate; powder; structural inhomogeneity; porosity; friction; quality; pressure.

Dry cutting in modern machinery

Despite the fact that applying cutting fluids significantly reduces friction it is not always viable option for economic and environmental reasons. The article carries out a review of foreign and domestic literature for dry cutting conditions of basic industrial materials, as well as it examine the possibilities of processing different materials used in modern engineering.
Keywords: machining; dry cutting; cast iron; carbon steel; titanium alloys; aluminum alloys.

Assessment of technological mineral waste of Dashkesan iron ore processing

The physical-chemical and mineralogical features of the techno¬logical mineral waste of the Dashkesan iron ore deposit are considered. It has been established that technological mineral waste has a rich elemental and mineralogic composition. It has been determined that the results can serve as a basis for reenrichment and extraction of magnetites, which promises high feasibility, economic and environmental efficiency.
Keywords: physical and chemical properties; technological waste; iron ore; mineral composition.
