The study of combined extrusion of tumblers with a co-bottom part.
Part 18. Methodology for calculating technological parameters at initial set by free backward extrusion

The method for calculating the energy-power and deformation parameters of the process of free backward extrusion of tumblers with a co-bottom part is presented. The extrusion of both non-hardening and hardening materials is considered. In the latter case, the consideration of hardening of the extruded material is described in detail. The above formulas make it possible to determine such important parameters of the stamping process as the total and specific deforming force, the maximum pressure on the die wall, and the increase in yield stress.
Keywords: forging; tumblers with the co-bottom part; combined extrusion; stresses; deformations.

Technological modes of upsetting-pressure welding of structural elements with creep-plasticity

Relationships are proposed for calculating the modes of technology for joining workpieces by pressure under isothermal conditions. The workpiece material is assumed to be anisotropic. The state of creep-plasticity is adopted. The condition of balance of work of external and internal forces is used. An assessment of the damageability of the workpiece material is given. Calculated data and samples are presented.
Keywords: plasticity; creep; power; pressure; time; damageability.

Optimization of pipe metal production technology

Increasing the efficiency of the production process of tubular metal products is an urgent task. The process of non-mandrel drawing of pipes and the issue of reduction of its energy intensity due to improvement of parameters of technological tools is considered. Method of optimization of inclination angle of working channel generatrix of technological tool (wire) is described taking into account parameters of drawing process of tubular metal products. Analytical dependence is proposed, which allows to calculate the optimal angle of inclination of the wolf generatrix to the drawing axis, which ensures minimum energy intensity of the pipe products production process. Application of the proposed formula allows optimizing technological parameters of the process of drawing tubular articles: reducing the multiplicity of drawing routes due to increased reduction of the work piece and change of friction conditions, improving the quality of the articles and reducing the risk of breakage of the work piece. Research is protected by patent.
Keywords: tubular metal products; plastic metal working; non-mandrel drawing; optimization; technological tool; deformation.

The influence of deformation heating on the strain localization in a specimen during the compression

The article is devoted to the process of testing cylindrical specimens for compression in order to study the stress-strain curves of a material in the hot state. The study focuses on studying the causes of intensive localization of deformation in the so-called shear bands. This effect is typical for a number of materials. The titanium-based alloys are of greatest interest of them. It was found that the localization of deformation can be associated with the effect of deformation heating, and inhomogeneity of deformation can be observed even if the specimen material shows the strong hardening effect during the whole test.
Keywords: stress-strain curve; flow stress; localization of strain; deformation heating; compression test.

The use of OBD-2 technology for vehicle diagnostics

Vehicle accident rates are still a serious problem in many countries. There are many factors that can cause transport accidents, in particular problems with the internal systems of the vehicle. In order to solve this problem, OBD-II technology was created to diagnose the condition of the vehicle. The purpose of the study is to explore the possibilities of technology OBD-2 for its application in a software system, which is analogous to the on-board computer of the car, to explore the possibilities of integration with services that provide the necessary information for the diagnosis of the car, creating an assistant car driver system, which provides functions for the diagnosis of the car. As a result of the article was developed a scheme of research on the basis of which a software system can be developed that will provide the possibility of using OBD-2 technology to collect statistics and diagnose the car with the on-board computer.
Keyword: diagnostics; OBD-2; adapter; car; on-board computer; command sets.

Modernization of the hydraulic press

The article describes the modernization of the hydraulic press regarding the increase in the distance from the base plate to the pressure heel of the hydraulic cylinder rod. The modernization is based on the idea of welding a mechanical assembly of two plates into certain parts of the structure, in this case, into four columns of a hydraulic press in order to create a collapsible structure.
Keywords: hydraulic press; modernization; welding; collapsible design.
