The main features of the stress-strain state of a hollow billet during longitudinal double-sided extrusion

An analysis of the uneven distribution of the parameters of the deformed state based on the results of computer simulation of the operation of longitudinal double-sided extrusion is given. Dependences for calculating the average degree of deformation along the main sections of a stepped semi-finished product are proposed. The analysis of the parameters of the stress state in the dangerous section of the workpiece deformation is considered.
Keywords: cold stamping; combined extrusion; voltage; deformation; heterogeneity.

Stationary temperature field in a rectangular plate with a linear change in thermal conductivity along one coordinate

The question of finding a temperature field in a rectangular plate is considered in this article, when heat exchange at two opposite ends occurs under boundary conditions of the third kind, there is no heat exchange at the remaining two. In this paper, based on the Fourier method, a solution for the distribution of the temperature field in a plate of infinite length is obtained. At the same time, the task itself is non-stationary. The solution itself is obtained in the form of a Fourier series containing modified zero-order Bessel functions. The reliability of the obtained result is confirmed by the fact that one of the special cases brings the problem to the problem with boundary conditions of the third kind.
Keywords: heat transfer; temperature field; rectangular plate; Fourier series; method of separation of variables; Bessel functions; boundary conditions of the third kind.

Pressure welding of shells of a ball-cylinder with creep plasticity

The technological scheme is considered and relations are proposed for calculating the modes of connection (welding) by pressure of the shells of a ball-cylinder. The process consists of short-term plastic compression of the shells and holding under pressure. The compression pressure (settlement) is determined kinematically from the discontinuous velocity field. The equations of state for plasticity and creep, as well as the criterion for the damage of the workpiece material, are used. Calculated data and samples of parts are given.
Keywords: plasticity; creep; pressure; time; material damage.

The study of ingot selection during computer-aided design of forging large-sized forgings on presses

The paper describes the methodology and algorithm for solving the weakly structured problem of computer-aided selection of an ingot from the enterprise nomenclature. The ingot is used for manufacturing solids of revolution press-forgings with an elongated axis, the main forging operation of which is broaching. Rules for selecting ingots are formalized in the form of a system of inequalities. The rules depend on technological restrictions taking into account parameters of the final forging and the presence or absence of an upset operation. The proposed methodology can be used in computer-aided systems for forging other types of large-sized forgings.
Keywords: forging technology; ingot selection; computer-aided design.

Optimization of clamping tool design based on use of detachable fixtures and numerical modeling method (Part 1)

Enterprises of mechanical engineering and other industries that widely use metalworking to form the surfaces of parts, for the most part, use special devices to fix parts on machines. Сomparative strength tests using numerical methods of designing three designs of machine tools to select the optimal option are performed. Three versions of the machine tool are accepted as objects for the milling operation of the «Fixed Sponge» part: a universal, detachable fixture and a detachable fixture without a stop. It is noted that the most acceptable for use in modern machine-building production are catalogs with automated support for the design of detachable fixtures. Each of the devices is examined for their strength and stability in them. The study is carried out using computer-aided design systems T-FlexCAD and ANSYS® Mechanical.
Keywords: special machine tool; benefits of the detachable fixtures; automation of detachable fixtures design; numerical modeling methods; testing the strength of the accessory; study of displacement values; optimisation of device design.
