Application of the functions of a complex variable for the study of stress concentration

The work is devoted to the measurement of stresses. The greatest difficulties in processing and analyzing experimental data arise when studying areas with stress gradients. The approach proposed in this paper to determining the laws of stress measurement in gradient regions is based on solving the plane problem of elasticity theory by methods of functions of a complex variable.
Keywords: stress; complex variable function; elasticity theory; stress function.

Determination of residual temperature stresses in the cutting wedge

The work is devoted to the determination of temperature stresses. It is known that the mechanism of formation of residual stresses during cutting is caused by two factors: the force and thermal effect of the tool on the surface layer of the part. The article deals with the distribution of the temperature field in the cutting wedge. It is established that the isotherms in the cutting part of the tool represent a series of confocal elliptical lines.
Keywords: temperature stresses; residual stresses; cutting wedge; elasticity theory; stress function.

Mechanization of the key running-in process with adjustable torque

This article discusses the mechanization of the process of running in keys with adjustable torque supplied with aircraft. An installation design has been developed that simulates 100–200 operations under conditions close to operational ones. The advantage of the installation is the simplicity of the design, which does not require high precision manufacturing of parts. Partial mechanization of a separate production operation is carried out – running-in (breaking-in) of torque wrenches. The design and operating principle of the device are considered. The performance of the installation has been confirmed under real production conditions. With the introduction of an installation for running in torque wrenches, labor productivity increased and costs decreased.
Keywords: adjustable torque wrenches; worm gear; asynchronous motor.

Development of an automated system for managing surfaces of CAD models

An automated system for describing and controlling complex geometry surfaces allows you to adjust the CAD model of the part according to data obtained from external sources, such as the result of scanning samples or the result of calculating the stamping process in the CAE system. The scope of application of the presented system is mechanical engineering, in particular, tool manufacturing.
Keywords: CAD model; B-spline; stamping; tooling; surface.

Investigation of affecting dies entry geometry on the microdrawing process using FE simulation

In this study, the influence and assessment of the of shapes of die entrance rounding on the deformation force, thinning grade and wrinklesability during microdrawing process for the workpiece made from copper for three scaling coefficients. The numerical simulation was carried out in Abaqus. The results had been shown that all dependent technological parameters underwent changes more or less. These changes could be approximated by a polynomial function of the second order.
Keywords: microdrawing; size effect; die entrance rounding; thinning grade; Abaqus.

Improvement of technological processes in the automotive industry

The paper studies the stages and parameters of the technological process of robotic assembly, assessed their impact on productivity and quality in robotic car assembly production. A hybrid method has been developed for optimizing the modes of movement of robotic manipulators in automated car assembly production. A study and modification of the stages of the technological process of robotic assembly was carried out to increase productivity. Technological recommendations for assembly robotic complexes are given.
Keywords: technological processes; car assembly production; mode optimization; productivity increase; robotic arm.

Review of methods for securing workpieces during milling processing

The article provides an overview of the most relevant methods of fixing workpieces during milling. The relevance of the chosen topic of the article is justified by the fact that the correct choice of the method of fixing the workpiece allows for accuracy, repeatability and efficiency and productivity, tool life, as well as safety. The article also discusses the essence and possibilities that the correct choice of the method of fixing the workpiece provides. The methods of installing the workpiece on the machine are given. The varieties of devices for fixing workpieces, types of clamping devices and parameters that the latter should provide are identified. The forces acting on the workpiece fixed in the device and the specifics of their calculation are considered.
Keywords: milling; workpieces; parts; fastening methods; clamping force.

Optimization of repair of gear shaft teeth of ore-pebble mill MRG 5500×7500 of enrichment plant «Lebedinsky GOK» JSC at the repair and mechanical plant

This article presents an important technique for restoring gear shafts, which plays a key role in the operation of the ore-pebble mill MRG 5500×7500 mill installed at the processing plant «Lebedinsky GOK» JSC. The developed methodology includes a sequence of the main stages of technological operations performed at the repair and mechanical plant of the enterprise. The use of this recovery method has many advantages: reducing the time of emergency downtime of MRG 5500×7500 mills, which reduces productivity losses and ensures stable operation of the factory; provides an extension of the service life of shafts and gears, which saves the company money; the use of this technique reduces the recovery time of these nodes, as repairs will be carried out promptly and without delay.
Keywords: ore-pebble mill; gear shaft; tangential gear gauge; surfacing; pitting.
