The range of applications of grape extracts: from health to industrial lubricants

The content of mineral elements in grape varieties of Kazakh selection «Akzhayyk» and «Bakytnur» is studied. The amount of mineral elements in grape berries was determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The studied samples have high nutritional value and essential macronutrients. The detected values of macronutrient content in grape generally correspond to the literary ranges with slight differences. Knowledge about the content of mineral elements in plants and their distribution in various parts of fruits is considered valuable for biochemical and physiological research to support research on the traceability of the geographical origin of food, table grapes and wine. The study reveales that grape extracts of the varieties «Akzhayyk» and «Bakytnur» contain a significant amount of macronutrients, such as magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and sulfur, which are used as additives in industrial oils and lubricants for machine tools. Grape extracts contain biologically active substances, such as flavonoids and polyphenols, which are proposed to be used as antioxidants and preservatives to increase the shelf life of oils and lubricants. The use of grape extracts as additives can improve the mechanical properties of materials and increase their wear resistance.

Research of cherry extracts as additives for industrial purposes

In order to meet the needs of consumers, the food industry is exploring innovative methods of food processing using new technologies. Bleaching is the most widely used processing method that increases the shelf life of fruits, vegetables and canned products. The quality of the product was assessed by sensory characteristics, inactivation of the peroxidase enzyme, as well as preservation of phenolic compounds. The results showed that an increase in bleaching time or microwave power is associated with a decrease in the sensory characteristics of cherries. In addition, suitable parameters were found for bleaching cherries in a microwave oven at a power of 300 watts for 5 minutes. The main results of studies on the use of cherry extracts as antioxidants for protection against oxidation and corrosion in industrial materials are considered.

Investigation of the effect of additives of essential macro- and microelements on the properties of lubricants based on vegetable oils

A prolonged deficiency or excess in the diet of certain minerals leads to a violation of the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, water and the development of corresponding diseases. Cherry (PrunusaviumL.) consists of phenolic compounds that contribute to the overall antioxidant activity. To study the content of macro- and microelements, varieties of cherries of Kazakh selection were considered: «Aigerim», «Lyazat» and «Merey». The amount of mineral substances in cherries is determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The studied samples have high nutritional value and essential macronutrients. In this study, the effect of sweet cherry extracts of three varieties on the properties of cooling lubricants of various types was studied. The experimental results showed that cherry extracts significantly improve the functional properties of the materials under consideration, such as viscosity index, coefficient of friction and power, as well as reduce the temperature and wear of equipment. The content of polyphenols in cherry extracts is also quite high, which gives them antioxidant properties, which is important when they are used as cooling lubricants. Thus, cherry extracts of three varieties can be effectively used as components of cooling lubricants in various industrial sectors.

Investigation of the effect of micro- and nanoparticles on the properties and structure of lubricants

The profile of biologically active substances and mineral elements in fruits and berries is of great importance in assessing the possibilities of neutralizing excess free radicals and interrupting the chain of oxidative reactions. Mineral elements also affect the growth and development of a living organism by activating enzymes or acting as coenzymes or cofactors. Raspberry (Rubusidaeus) belongs to the Rosaceae family and is of considerable value due to its good taste and specific coloring, as well as many biologically active compounds. To study the content of mineral elements, raspberry varieties of Kazakh selection were considered: «Anar», «Arai» and «Salem». The amount of minerals in raspberries was determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The revealed values of macronutrient content in raspberry varieties generally correspond to the literary ranges with slight differences. Studies have shown that raspberry extracts «Anar», «Arai» and «Salem» contain high concentrations of macronutrients necessary for the normal functioning of car engines, including magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and sodium in amounts from 1,70 to 33,16 mg/ kg. Moreover, raspberries contain antioxidants and phenolic compounds, which are used to improve the quality of oils and reduce engine wear.

Industrial policy in post-industrial megalopolises

The problems of the functioning of the economy of the largest cities that have undergone a period of transformation from industrial centers to centers focused on financial transactions and services are studied. From the author's point of view, with the undoubted validity of the removal of industries harmful to workers and the population, harmful to the environment, from urban settlements, the complete destruction of the industrial segment has rather a negative effect. The article substantiates the thesis that industrial policy in megacities, at least in Russia, should remain an integral part of their economic development strategies. The main components of such a policy are considered (orientation to the production of products with high added value, the development of industries using advanced, environmentally friendly technologies, the involvement of scientific and human resources of research structures and universities, the expansion of intra-city sales markets). From our point of view, such a policy will contribute to improving the financial condition of cities, diversifying and improving the quality of jobs, meeting the material and social needs of the population.
