The effect of the chip formation process on the quality of the treated surface when cutting viscous materials

The work is devoted to the theory of plasticity. It considers the problem of rectangular cutting at the initial stage of tool implementation during plastic deformation. The analysis of the field of sliding lines at the steady-state cutting stage allowed us to establish the necessary condition for improving the quality of the treated surface when cutting viscous materials.
Keywords: method of sliding lines; chip formation zone; cutting tool; contact processes; stresses; plastic deformation.

Distribution of the temperature field during cooling of parts bounded by surfaces in the form of a parallelepiped

The article is devoted to non-stationary thermal conductivity. It examines the issue of studying the temperature distribution during cooling of parts bounded by surfaces in the form of a parallelepiped. The Fourier method was used in the solution. As a result, an expression is obtained for finding the temperature field during cooling of parts bounded by surfaces in the form of a parallelepiped under a boundary condition of the first kind.
Keywords: heat transfer; thermal conductivity; temperature distribution; parallelepiped; unsteadiness; boundary condition of the first kind.

To calculation of abrasive wheel wear during grinding of railway rails

The technological features of grinding railway rails with mobile grinding machines are presented. The results of studying the working surface of the 14АF36P6B grinding wheel were obtained during face grinding of differentially heat-strengthened DT350 rails of E76HF steel. A significant novelty of the technological features under consideration is that the forces and cutting forces during grinding of the shaped profile of the head of railway rails are analyzed. The influence of the angle ε on the wear of abrasive grains of normal electrocorundum and the bakelite bond of the wheel was determined. Based on the results of the analysis of the total wear of the grinding wheel, it follows that the most optimal value of the angle ε is the range from 60 to 90º and the angle α is equal to 60º. This ensures uniform and minimal wear of the grinding wheel. Based on the analysis of the wear mechanism of grinding wheels on bakelite bond, theoretical and experimental data on grinding wheel wear are generalised, taking into account the phenomena of abrasive grains spalling and bond destruction.
Keywords: railway track; grinding of rails; abrasive wheel; the process of destruction of the grinding wheel; wear of the circle.

Determination of the ultimate plastic deformation of AD1M sheet during single point incremental forming

This article describes the study of the ultimate plastic deformation of an AD1M aluminum alloy sheet using single point incremental forming technology. With the use of computer modeling in the PAM-STAMP 2G system, the values of relative deformations, main maximum and minimum deformations are determined. Based on the simulation results, control programs were created for an industrial robot, according to which samples were formed and the forming depth was determined before the actual rupture of the workpiece. As a result, the stress-strain state was determined on the limit deformation diagram (FLD diagram), corresponding to the rupture of the sample. The maximum relative deformation was 130 %, which is 5 times higher than the standard value of 25 % for the AD1M material using traditional molding technology.
Keywords: incremental forming; SPIF technology; point deformation.

The influence of various types and modes of heat treatment of heat-resistant stainless steels of grades 20KH23N18 and Aisi 310S on the properties of their surfaces

The issue of changing the surface properties of stainless heat-resistant steels 20KH23N18 and its foreign analogue Aisi 310S, used as forming equipment for the manufacture of glass products, after heat treatment is considered. The differences between these types of steels are shown in terms of such indicators as microhardness, grain size and porosity, depending on the type and mode of heat treatment used. It has been determined that the properties of domestic steel 20KH23N18 without additional mechanical treatment differ significantly from the properties of both treated and untreated Aisi 310S steel, which can certainly affect its performance characteristics as a material for glass-forming equipment.
Keywords: heat-resistant steel; heat treatment; microhardness; oxide layer; differences in steel; glass-forming equipment.
